More Fall Fluffing, Ya'lll

I have added some pumpkins to my Fall decor. Amazing how some real pumpkins can liven things up.

A basket with Indian corn and ugly squash, gord thingy.

This is in my kitchen, the brown and white pitcher is McCoy and really reminds me of fall.

See the cute button detail? My mother gave this to me several years ago. Love it!

2 white pumpkins added to the dining table.

Recent fid at GW, ceramic artichoke.

Urns found at Michaels on deep discount a couple of months ago

Apple House

A week ago I was in SE Tennessee, I was visiting my parents. On Sunday we took a drive up on Dayton Mountain. Our destination was to Wooden Apple Orchards. It was a perfect sunny fall day in Tennessee. Being there brought back so many memories of childhood. I had a wonderful day. Hope you enjoy these pictures as much I enjoyed taking them.

There was a Pie Shop on the premises. You could order apple anything... apple fritters, apple donuts, apple cake, apple pie, fried apple pie, to name a few. We had fried pies, they were good, but not as good as my mom makes it.

This is my sweet parents, Dad is is 83. He was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's, this outing was a particularly good day for him.

Of course we bought some of these beauties to make pie and applesauce.

The colors of fall.........

Show and Tell Friday

Thanks to Cindy at My Romantic Home for hosting, Show and Tell Friday. I love this blogginng community, there is always something fun happening. Love to see and hear about everyones cherished things and memories.

Back in 1997 I was working in a Pediatric ICU on night shift. I was working on Christmas Eve, which was a real bummer. My parents and my brother had flown out to spend the holiday with my husband and I and our 2 small boys. To shorten the story, I was allowed to leave work early as staffing needs had changed. So I came home in the wee ours of the morning, while everyone was asleep still, the house was quiet and the lights were on, on the tree in the living room. I silently walked into the living room and then walked into the kitchen and then into the dining room, there the table was set with this lovely set of Fiest Ware. My jaw dropped, you see it was also my Birthday and my mom and brother had bought me the dishes as a Birthday/Christmas gift. Instead of wrapping them all, they had decided the evening before to set the table for Christmas morning before they went to bed. So I was so suprised to see my table set with these beautiful dishes. My mom knew that I liked Fiesta Ware and she had got my brother to help her by the set. So that is the story of my dishes.

The two small pitchers and the littlest bowl's in the photo above are not fiesta ware, but they are similar in color and fit in nicely.

Thanks for letting me share the story of my Birthday/Christmas dishes.
