Chrsitmas 2008

A year ago I was just discovering the wonderful world of blogging. I stumbled upon on so many blogs featuring the holiday's and just soaked up all the ideas I could. I never dreamed that I would find the time to start my own blog. But as I set up all my Christmas decor I tried to keep in mind some of the ideas and suggestions that I had seen on blogs like Kim at http://deardaisycottage.typepad.com/daisy_cottage/ and Rhoda at http://southernhospitalityblog.com/thanksgiving-with-the-family/ . Anyway these were the first pictures I started taking a year ago.

Remember if you click on the pictures you can enlarge them.

There is just something about a lit tree, that brings me a great deal of peace. I know it is a lot of work, but is so worth it, even if I am the only one that feels that way. Although I am sure I am not alone.

Presets under the tree.

When we first bought our house I was so excited to have these display shelves. Well I soon felt overwhelmed with how to display my treasures throughout the year. I think now after 3 years
it is becoming easier and it has helped to have pictures to refer back too, like these.

I have yet to pull out my Christmas stuff, but refreshing my memory with what I did last year is helping. I knw I will change it up a bit, but nonetheless I think this will help.

I have a Dicken's Village on the bottom shelves on either side of the fireplace.

Love the vinyl lettering on the mirror. It came off easily after the holiday's. I am thinking about doing it again.

This is the breakfast nook.

I love snowman's, these are part of my collection.

Thanks for visiting me. I would love to hear your comments. Marla

  1. Beautiful tree! Thanks for sharing. If I did not decorate anywhere else in my home, I would still want my tree.
