Christmas house tour

First of all I want to show you, what late December in Florida looks like. My yard has a few suprises this time of year. Ahh so lovely, this Hibiscus sits in a pot and my lanai and just keeps blooming and blooming month after month..

Croton, by the pool.
Knock out roses still blooming too.

In this picture you can see my azalea bushes bloming.

These are planters by the front door.

Fresh Chocolate hazelnut biscotti.

This would be my snowman explosion.

Our anniversary ornament, from the Chattanooga Choo Choo, our first date in 1981.

This is the top of our entertainment center.

Our Christmas kitty.

This is my Dept 56 Dickens village, or at least part of it close up.

Thanks for joining me for my Christmas tour.

Snowmen collection

Just not in the holiday mood yet, busy this week moving my parents into a condo 6 miles away.  Thought some of you might like to see my snowman collection and how I displayed it last year.  The way I am feeling, I am not sure I will be dragging out so many holiday things this year!  I hope I get some inspiration soon!

This year I decided to display my snowmen in mass. I really like the impact of all of them lined up on the mantel. At first I just lined them up and then thought something else was needed, a swag or something. Then I realized that every snowman has to have snow, so I added fluffly stuff underneath and put some LED lights under the snow. I still need to put up the snowman stockings along the mantle, but need some of those nifty clear hooks that you can remove later.

Normally I would display my snowmen all around the house, but this is fun for a change.

Silver and Gold... In the Dining Room

I am joining Tablescape Thursday from Between naps on the Porch. Stop by there and see all the great posts.

Well friends, I finally got to do some Christmas fluffing today. I refinished a recent thrift store find, the dining room table, so that delayed my decorating in the dining room. This tablescape came into being after I found these great plates last weekend at Kohl's. They were 60% off last week and I got each plate for $3.99. I limited myself to only 4, probably will regret that. Maybe I should go back now or take my chances on after Christmas sales. Anyway they really brought it all together. In the past I would probably kept my gold and silver items separated, cause I had this idea that you couldn't mix them. Any of you ever go through that?
I am in love with the sparkle and the silver and gold together.
As always if you want to enlarge the photos, click on them.
The mercury glass I have had for a while, they are HomeGoods purchases. Oh the silver bottlebrush trees are from HG too.

I hate the color of the walls in my dining room. I have got to get that changed. The problem is that we have 14 foot ceilings and the ceiling is also the same color, I really need professionals to handle this for me.

Wedding china in the cabinet. Our 26th Anniversary is in 2 weeks.

These are the plates I bought, already had the other plates and chargers.

These are spoon handles turned napkin ring. Thrift store find.

Since I only bought four of the plates at kohls, I add these thrift store plate to the place settings on the ends of the table. Wish I had more of these too.

More thrift store napkin rings, Damask napkins GW find. Gold napkin after Christmas sale Target many years ago.

This tapestry was a GW find, only $1.99,, still had new tags on it, never was used. I though it was kind of cheap looking but it has grown on me and I really think it fits well in the dining room.

An Angel bell, bought last year at Kohl's. Isn't she sweet? I have her hanging on the lamp.

thanks for stopping in to see my dining room. Hope you'll leave me a message and visit again, soon. I am saving my other Christmas Decorations for future posts, in the next week.
