This was my first project using chalkboard paint.  Also my first time to paint freehand on something.  It probably looks like my first time too, but hey you gotta start somewhere!

I used the chalkboard paint on the bottoms of these clay pots I bought at Lowes.  I really love how these turned out.

  1. I love how it looks on the herb pots! Great idea. I think you did a good job on the bread box~like you said you have to start somewhere. I've never painted something like that before so I think you did great.

  2. You have done a great job on that bread box. I love it and of course i love Zach too. Thanks for sharing.

  3. All of your projects look wonderful! I love the look of the painted clay pots. I think I will do that. Your cat and dog are beautiful. Your tomatoes look great and I love the crown wire thingy on it. Sorry, I can't think of the word.=0) Have a lovely Mother's Day. Hugs, Cindy S

  4. You did a outstanding job on that bread box! Hope you have a FUN weekend:)

  5. clapping hands ~ good job! I love the idea of using the chalkboard paint on the pots, how clever is that! :)
I plan to use some of that paint for a menu board as I 'Tuscanize' my kitchen.

  6. Hi Marla, Everything looks great!! I have to say I was really excited when I saw your simple clay pots painting with the chalkboard paint and labeled with your herbs! Great idea!!

Loved seeing your kitty! I loved cats too! (see! We do have a lot in common. :)

  7. Ahhh! We had thought to tell our local Organic Farmers to paint the end of their baskets with chalkboard paint-but, for myself! Hey-great idea!
    Thanks for sharing!

  8. Your pots are super cute! Great idea!

  9. I painted most of my outdoor pots with chalkboard paint. I love the matte look and then it's fun to write on them. I did that a couple of summers ago and they are still in great shape. I love how yours look.

I also think your bread box is tres magnifique! I love the little painted details you did around the chalkboard rectangle!

  10. I love chalkboard paint too! I'm always looking around thinking, "Can I paint that with chalkboard paint? How about that or this?"The pots look really cute, so does the bread box, or should I say pain box?

  11. You did great with your projects! They tray is so pretty! You'll be decopauging everything now! Love the little chalkboard paint pots too!

I used to live in Washington State too! I grew up in Tacoma and lived in Seattle for a year before heading off to college.

  12. Love your chalkboard paint projects. They turned out adorable.

Could Harley and Zach be any cuter???? Do they get along?

Oh how I love home grown tomatoes. They actually taste like a tomato, not just look like a tomato.
